Chloe Hickinbottom has said in an interview with The Sun that she would love to be the next Mariah Carey…or maybe even Susan Boyle!

Chloe impressed the judges with her rendition of the wartime song,  White Cliffs of Dover, originally made famous by Vera Lynn.

However, Chloe would also like to sing more modern songs on the competition.

She told the newspaper:  “Now I’ve got through I can show off my voice more… I’d really like to be a professional singer like Mariah Carey or Susan Boyle.”

She added: “Louis’s comments were amazing. I just couldn’t believe he said that I was the best act from today and when they were all standing up I felt just like crying.

“When I ran off the stage it felt like it was a dream… I didn’t know what to do!”

She spoke about when she first realised that she could sing: “I was like six or seven when I started singing. I sang along to a Barbie film… that’s where all this started.

“I’ve never had lessons and I’ve never been in front of an audience that big, but I always used to practise in the bedroom. My dad didn’t think it was me, he thought I was someone on TV!”

Meanwhile, Vera Lynn has said to The Times newspaper: “It’s great that a young girl wants to sing my songs. She sounded very mature, she had a good presence, and she looks good. More importantly than all of that, she sings in tune. She has got absolutely great potential.

“For a young girl of 10, the words and the sentiment won’t mean as much as for an older person. But I suppose she could be singing about a friend at school going away, and understand it that way.”
